Dismantling Joints
A flanged dismantling joint bolted between two flanges so valves, meters and fittings can be installed, removed or serviced without cutting or disturbing the rest of the pipeline. Its adjustable length takes up tolerance and absorbs longitudinal movement.

What is a dismantling joint?
A dismantling joint is an adjustable flanged spool bolted into a line beside a valve, pump or meter. Slackening its tie bars lets the joint shorten so the equipment can be lifted out without cutting pipe or springing the line.
What is the difference between a dismantling joint and a flexible coupling?
A dismantling joint is flanged and adjustable in length, made to take equipment out of a line and to absorb longitudinal tolerance. A flexible coupling joins two plain-ended pipes and accommodates angular deflection and small diameter differences, but is not intended for repeated dismantling.
