Questions & Answers

What is a weldolet?

A weldolet is a forged branch outlet fitting welded onto the run pipe to take a smaller branch, avoiding a fabricated reinforced tee. Dimensions follow MSS SP-97 and the usual grade is forged ASTM A105.

What is the difference between a weldolet, sockolet and threadolet?

All three are branch outlet fittings to MSS SP-97; only the branch connection differs. A weldolet is butt-welded to the branch pipe, a sockolet takes the branch in a socket weld, and a threadolet has a female thread. Weldolets suit larger and higher-pressure branches; sockolets and threadolets suit small-bore connections.

What run size do you supply for weldolets?

½–48″ run. Other sizes can usually be supplied on request — send your requirement for confirmation.

Which standards and grades are available?

ASTM A105: Forged carbon steel · ASTM A182: F304/316 · F11 · F22 (alloy/SS) · ASTM A350 LF2: Low-temperature carbon. See the datasheet for the complete list.

What materials are offered?

A105 forged; A182 F304/316, F11, F22; A350 LF2.

Is a technical datasheet available?

Yes — the official YTM Pipe datasheet with dimensions, materials and standards can be downloaded on this page.

How do I get a price?
